How to care for your flowers

If your flowers arrive out of water:

  • Firstly remove all external packaging – if you want to keep the shape of the bouquet intact it is best to leave the string tied around the stems.

  • Cut approximately 2-3cm off the bottom of the stems at a 45 degree angle. This will increase the surface area and allow the stem to take up as much water as is possible.

  • Fill a clean vase with fresh cool water and add flower food.

  • Place your hand-tied bouquet gently into the vase.
If your flowers arrive in water:
  • You can leave as they are for 3-4 days.

  • Afterwards remove from all packaging and put into a clean vase filled with fresh water.

If you receive an arrangement in oasis:
  • Always ensure that the green oasis base is kept moist.

  • The best way to water your arrangement is to take it out of its container and pour water over the oasis. If it is placed on the draining board overnight any excess water will run away safely during the night. You can then put it back into its container.
Ongoing care tips for your flowers:
  • Add fresh water to your vase every 2 –3 days.

  • Keep flowers out of direct sunlight and away from hot and cold draughts.

  • Some of your flowers will arrive in bud for maximum life and will gradually open within a few days.

  • Trim away dead or spent flowers to keep your arrangements looking fresh.
